Song Yufei ("we", "our", or "us") built Sniplet as a clipboard manager and code snippet organizer. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.
1. Our Core Principle
Sniplet is designed with privacy first. All your clipboard data, code snippets, and notes are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your content and cannot read, analyze, or share it.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Your clipboard content or saved snippets
- Your code, notes, passwords, or any stored data
- Your biometric data (Face ID / Touch ID)
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Advertising identifiers
- Personal information such as name, email, or location
3. Data Stored on Your Device
All snippet data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- Snippets: Text content, code, links, images, and other clipboard items you save.
- Metadata: Tags, folders, creation dates, and classification data.
- App preferences: Settings such as appearance mode, auto-cleanup interval, and code theme.
4. iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you enable iCloud Sync, your snippet data is synced across your devices via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) infrastructure. This feature is off by default and can be enabled in app settings. iCloud Sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can disable iCloud Sync at any time in the app settings.
5. Clipboard Access
Sniplet monitors your clipboard to detect and save copied content. This processing happens entirely on your device. No clipboard data is ever sent to external servers. You can disable clipboard auto-detection and auto-save at any time in the app settings.
6. Biometric Authentication
Sniplet supports Face ID and Touch ID for app lock. Biometric data is processed entirely by Apple's Local Authentication framework and the Secure Enclave on your device. We never access or store your biometric data.
7. AI-Powered Features
Sniplet includes on-device content classification and AI enhancement features. All AI processing is performed locally on your device. No content is sent to external AI services or cloud APIs.
8. Camera and Photos Access
Sniplet may request camera access for OCR (text recognition from images). Photos access is used to select images for OCR processing. All image processing happens on your device. No images are transmitted externally.
9. In-App Purchases
Sniplet offers an optional one-time Pro purchase managed through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.
10. Keyboard Extension
Sniplet provides a custom keyboard extension for quick snippet insertion. The keyboard extension accesses your saved snippets from a shared local database. It does not collect keystrokes, transmit data, or have network access.
11. Third-Party Services
Sniplet does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party services involved are Apple's infrastructure (iCloud, App Store), which are governed by Apple's own privacy policies.
12. Data Export and Deletion
- Export: You can export your snippets in JSON or text format at any time from within the app.
- Backup: You can create and restore local backups from the app settings.
- Deletion: Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. If iCloud Sync was enabled, you can manage your iCloud data through Settings > Apple ID > iCloud.
13. Children's Privacy
Sniplet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
